Blood-gas and hemodynamic responses to oxygen in acute myocardial infarction.

چکیده
Blood-gas (Pao2) and hemodynamic responses to the inhalation of oxygen were studied in 60 patients with acute myocardial infarction. Patients who were not in heart failure on admission and did not develop signs of heart failure with n the next 5 days achieved the same Pa02 level while breathing 100% oxygen as did patients without acute myocardial infarction. Patients with pulmonary edema or cardiogenic shock had a very poor Pa02 response to oxygen inhalation. Patients in mild heart failure at the time of study and patients who developed heart failure subsequent to the study had a Pao0 response intermeliate between the other two groups. This rise of Pa02 with oxygen correlated with the cardiac index and right atrial oxygen prior to inhalation of

متن کاملThe Hemodynamic Effects of Drugs on Myocardial Oxygen Use
The circulatory responses to high equinalgesic doses of morphine are compared with those of pethidin. The decrease in mean arterial blood pressure in case of morphine was 28p.c., with a paralleled and identical decrease in total peripheral resistance and no negative inotropic effects. Pethidine decreased blood pressure 54p.c., as a result of peripheral vasodilation of 46p.c. and a sharp drop...
متن کاملThe effect of oxygen inhalation on cardiac biomarkers in patients presenting with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infraction: A randomized clinical trial
Background: It is assumed giving oxygen to patients with acute myocardial infraction may increase the oxygenation of the ischemic tissue; however, the usefulness of oxygen in these patients has become a challenging topic. Thus, the present study aimed to determine the effect of oxygen inhalation on cardiac biomarkers in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods: This randomized cli...
متن کاملPrognostic Impact of Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction Risk Index on Hospitalization Mortality of Patient with Acute Pulmonary Embolism
Introduction: Acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is one of the deadly cardiovascular diseases. One of the indexes proposed in these patients for risk stratification is the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk index (TRI), which includes three parameters of systolic blood pressure, age, and heart rate. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of TRI on in-hospit...
متن کاملEffects of remifentanil and alfentanil on cardiovascular responses to tracheal intubation
Introduction: Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation necessitate to start a surgery and induction of general anesthesia as well as the maintenance of the air way and to provide ventilation. However, Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation may lead to hemodynamic response that appear with the symptoms of hypertension tachycardia, arrhythmia and myocardial ischemia and results in myocardial infarction...
